Don Bosco Anbu Illam is Non Governmental organization which had its humble beginning in the year 1988 the Centenary year of the death of our father and founder St. John Bosco, in order to cater to the needs of most deserving and marginalized children in and around Salem. Especially towards the Street and Working children, Orphans, Semi-orphans, Prisoners Children, Rag Pickers, HIV/AIDS infected and affected children, Child Labourers , drop-outs, Young men and women, Women Self-help groups and slum children for their education and empowerment. It was a brave venture by our Salesians especially Late Rev Fr. Schlooz and Rev. Bro. Meril Rodriguez SDB. Don Bosco Anbu Illam has reached the nook and corners of the Salem District in order to uplift the vulnerable part of the society.

Silver Jubilee year is always a blessing especially for us the Salesians together with the marginalized Young at Risk. We are happy and grateful towards God and all our well wishers who have helped in its growth. Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem with its caring and protecting hands was able to inspire, protect and rehabilitate thousands of youngsters, women and children in the locality. But we remember that we have ‘miles to go before we sleep…’ May the Good Lord Bless us.
